Marina Inn Hotel & Conference Center to become Delta Hotels by Marriott South Sioux City Riverfront

Marina Inn Hotel and Conference Center is pleased to announce it’s  upcoming new name.  In late September, the Marina Inn will become Delta Hotels by Marriott South Sioux City Riverfront.  This is one of Marriott’s first Delta branded hotels in the Midwest United States and signals the rapid expansion of the brand since its endorsement into the Marriott signature portfolio.  The hotel will continue to be owned by Sioux City businessman, John Gleeson, whose family has owned the hotel since 1972.  The same strong management team, lead by Ralph Bobian, will continue to manage the hotel and restaurant.

“I am very excited for the Marina Inn to become Delta Hotels by Marriott” said John Gleeson, owner. “Being part of Marriott’s fastest growing premium full-servce brand is fantastic.  Our amenties, location on the river, and the quality of our design make us a great fit for this exciting full service Marriott brand.  The Delta flag provides flexibility in design aesthetics while still delivering fundamentals of the brand and the quality level that is expected in the premium full-service tier.  We are investing several million dollars in renovations as we make the transition to become one of the Delta Hotels by Marriott. These improvements help secure our positioning as one of the premiere hospitality properties of the upper Midwest.”

“The Delta Hotels by Marriott South Sioux City Riverfront marks the beginning of a period of exciting growth for the award-wining Delta brand,” said Gregory Durrer, Global Brand Leader Delta Hotels. “Delta’s design and service enables guests to have a seamless travel experience that allows them to focus on what’s important. It is simple made perfect.”

The Delta Hotels brand encompasses a rich Canadian history and is a great complement to the Marriott International portfolio. Its growth and expansion into North America with hotels in Orlando, Baltimore and now South Sioux City, signal Marriott International’s plans to grow the brand. Delta Hotels’ hospitality and model of premium simplicity will also be growing globally with new hotels planned for major gateway cities including New York, Shanghai and London. The development pipeline currently brings the brand offerings to 80 hotels.

Focusing on truly meaningful elements that provide its guests with a memorable and frictionless journey, Delta Hotels delivers a fresh new lodging alternative in the Sioux City area. The hotel features 181 guestrooms and suites, including Deluxe Rooms, Riverfront Rooms and Suites. Riverfront rooms feature large windows with expansive views of the Missouri river and the Sioux City skyline while spacious Suites include custom furnishings and artwork in separate living and bedroom areas.

“I am thrilled that Siouxland is playing a part in this fast growing, streamlined brand,” said Ralph Bobian, General Manager.  “To be the first Delta hotel in the region followed by several others in the Midwest is very exciting and only supports the ongoing growth of our area.  Business and leisure travelers will now have a full service option under a nationally recognized brand within the Marriott family.”

Kahlil’s Steak, Fish and Chophouse will remain as one of the area’s finest dining options. The hotel boasts over 45,000 square feet of meeting and event space and is the region’s leading location for conventions, meetings, weddings and other social events. Additional hotel amenities include a new 24/7 fitness center with state-of-the-art cardio equipment with touch screen technology and free weights; a new Starbucks coffee shop, and indoor and outdoor pool.  Guests will always enjoy complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the property.

Guests can gain exclusive access to even more digital features through the Marriott Mobile app when they book direct, including mobile check-in and checkout, keyless entry and Mobile Requests to make their travel experience seamless. Marriott Rewards members will also earn points for their stay at Delta Hotels and can redeem for hotel stays across the Marriott Rewards portfolio of brands.
